These Halal-certified samosas are crafted with a generous filling of 70% chicken, complemented by onions, potatoes, and textured vegetable protein derived from soya. The pastry, making up 31% of the samosa, is a delicious blend of wheat flour, water, palm oil, and a touch of salt.
The filling is seasoned with a unique blend of spices, including cumin seeds, crushed coriander, cumin powder, and garam masala. The garam masala is a fragrant mix of coriander, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, star anise, cumin, chilli, fennel, black pepper, bay leaves, sunflower oil, nutmeg, and cardamom. The addition of sunflower oil, crushed chilli, and fenugreek further enhances the flavor profile of these samosas.
Please note that these samosas contain cereals containing gluten, soya, and wheat.
For storage, keep the samosas frozen at temperatures below -18°C. Once thawed, do not refreeze. Instead, keep them refrigerated and consume within the same day.
Cooking these samosas is easy. For best results, cook from frozen. Deep fry in hot oil for 6-8 minutes until they turn golden brown and are well cooked. Ensure the filling is piping hot before serving. If the samosas have been allowed to thaw, reduce the cooking times accordingly.
