These samosas are filled with a generous 48% potato, complemented by a mix of vegetables including peas, carrots, and sweetcorn. The pastry, a blend of wheat flour, water, salt, and palm oil, encloses this flavorful filling, adding a delightful crunch to every bite.
The filling is seasoned with a unique blend of spices, including cumin seed, crushed chilli, crushed coriander, and garam masala. The garam masala is a fragrant mix of coriander, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, star anise, cumin, chilli, fennel, black pepper, bay leaves, sunflower oil, nutmeg, and cardamom. The addition of coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder, turmeric, salt, green chilli, and fenugreek further enhances the flavor profile of these samosas.
For cooking, deep fry the samosas from frozen in preheated oil at 180°C/350°F for 8-10 minutes until they are crispy and golden brown. Drain well before serving. Always ensure that the food is cooked thoroughly and is piping hot throughout before serving. Exercise caution as the fillings can be extremely hot after cooking and spitting may occur during the frying process.
For storage, keep the samosas refrigerated between -2°C and +4°C. Once opened, use immediately and do not exceed the use by date. For longer storage, freeze on the day of purchase and use within 1 month. If the food has thawed, do not refreeze.
