Fresh Halal Whole Rabbit is a lean, mild white meat, Certified Halal and skin-on, with individual animals weighing between 1.3kg and 1.6kg. Slaughtered by the non-stunned method, it is well suited to slow-cooked curries, stews and pot-roasts. It can be ordered whole or cut down into smaller joints and dices for quicker cooking.
What Does a Whole Halal Rabbit Include?
Each pack holds one whole rabbit, skin-on and bone-in, typically around 1.4kg and ranging from 1.3kg to 1.6kg depending on the animal. It arrives fresh and chilled, never frozen, so the carcass stays intact until it is cut down. Lean, fine-grained white meat runs throughout, carried on the bone structure of the whole animal rather than a single boned-out joint.
What Cutting Options Are Available?
This rabbit is prepared to order: whole, halved into 2 pieces, quartered into 4, or jointed into 8 or 12 pieces. For a rabbit curry, ask for the curry dice at 16-18 pieces per animal, or choose mid dice at 30-40g, small dice at 20-25g or very small dice at 10-15g. Every option is supplied skin-on.
How Is This Rabbit Sourced?
Every rabbit is slaughtered by the non-stunned method, Antibiotic-free and Growth hormone-free, with no additional sourcing claims attached to this product.
Is Rabbit the Same as Chicken?
Rabbit and chicken are both lean, mild white meats, but they come from different animals with a different bone structure and a slightly sweeter, more delicate flavour in rabbit. This whole rabbit weighs 1.3kg to 1.6kg, noticeably smaller than a whole chicken, and is cut into the same range of joints and dices described above rather than chicken-style portions. Because it is smaller and denser than chicken, portions are usually planned by the whole animal rather than by individual fillets.
