Slow-Braised Beef Chuck (serves approx. 3 per 500g)
Ingredients:
- Fresh Halal British Beef Chuck (Boneless)
- Plain flour
- Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 2 onions (chopped)
- 2 carrots (sliced)
- 2 celery stalks (sliced)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- Beef stock or water
- Bay leaves and thyme (optional)
- Cooking oil
Preparation:
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 160°C (Fan 140°C) or Gas Mark 3.
- Season the Beef: Lightly coat the beef chuck with flour, sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
- Brown the Beef: In a large pan, heat a little oil over medium heat. Sear the beef on all sides for 4-5 minutes, creating a flavorful crust.
- Prepare the Vegetables: Add the onions, carrots, celery, and garlic to the same pan and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Transfer to a Casserole Dish: Place the browned beef and vegetables in a large casserole dish. Add enough beef stock or water to submerge the beef halfway. For added flavor, include bay leaves and thyme.
- Slow Cook in the Oven: Cover the dish and cook for 3 to 3.5 hours, or until the beef is tender and falls apart easily.
- Rest and Serve: Allow the beef to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing or shredding. Serve with the rich braising liquid and vegetables.
Stovetop Option: Alternatively, slow cook the beef chuck on the stovetop by simmering in stock over low heat for 3-4 hours until tender.
Not Suitable for Microwave Cooking.
Enjoy the hearty, flavorful experience of Halal British Beef Chuck in slow-cooked stews, roasts, or comforting meals. Its natural marbling ensures an unbeatable tenderness perfect for any family meal or special occasion.
