This page holds five British mutton cuts with the bone removed, the boneless mix parts, boneless leg, boneless shoulder, neck fillet and cannon. Each is Certified Halal and cut to order by our butchers on the day of dispatch, so you choose on the product page: 10-15g, 25-30g or 50-60g dice, 160-180g chunks, 20-30g strips, 225-250g steaks, or minced. Fat on or fat off is free.

Cuts on the bone are on the bone-in page, and mutton mince has its own mince page.

Everything you need to know about our certified Halal butcher cuts, chilled packaging, and delivery.

What are boneless mutton mix parts?

A mixed pack cut from several boneless mutton cuts, sold by weight rather than by cut, and the everyday choice for a curry. The boneless mix parts come diced at 10-15g, 25-30g or 50-60g, as 160-180g chunks, as 20-30g or 50-60g strips, or minced, in 500g, 1kg, 2kg or 4kg packs. If you want a single named cut instead, the boneless leg and boneless shoulder offer the same sizes.

Which boneless mutton cut is best for curry?

Shoulder for flavour, leg for leaner pieces that hold their shape. The boneless shoulder has more fat running through it and gives the richer gravy; the boneless leg is the choice for a drier bhuna or a biryani. Cut either at 25-30g for a standard curry, or 50-60g when the dish will cook for two hours or more. The neck fillet is the third option and stays moist through the longest cooking.

Can boneless mutton be minced?

Yes. Choose Mince as the cutting style on the boneless mix parts, or Hand Mince on the boneless cannon for a coarser, hand-chopped texture that suits seekh kebabs and koftas. Both are minced when your order is prepared. For a ready-made range of fat levels in 250g and 1kg packs, see the mutton mince page.

How long does boneless mutton keep?

Up to 6 days in the fridge in its vacuum seal, or up to 12 months in the freezer if you freeze it on the day it arrives; the seal is freezer-safe. Orders travel with DPD in a Woolcool insulated box with ice gel packs that hold 0-4C for up to 72 hours. DPD delivers Tuesday to Saturday: dispatched the next working day and delivered the day after. Delivery is 6.99 under 75 pounds and free from 75 pounds.
