Halal roasting joints for the oven. British Angus beef topside, silverside, eye of round, knuckle, chuck roll, rump, picanha, rolled tenderloin, fore rib, whole brisket and Thor's Hammer, plus Australian Wagyu topside.

For lamb and mutton, whole or boneless leg and shoulder; young goat whole leg and shoulder; and venison whole leg, rolled with or without the bone.

Topside, silverside and eye of round are the lean carving joints. Fore rib, rump and picanha bring more fat and flavour. Shoulder, brisket and chuck roll want a long, slow roast. Each joint is cut to order by our halal butchers, vacuum-sealed and delivered nationwide in an insulated box.

Halal Roasting Joints Buying Guide & Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our certified Halal butcher cuts, chilled packaging, and delivery.

Which joint is best for a Sunday roast?

Lamb shoulder or leg for lamb, and a topside or fore rib for beef. A bone-in lamb shoulder is the most forgiving: cook it slowly and it stays moist. A lamb leg roasts pink in under two hours. For beef, the fore rib is the showpiece and a boneless topside the everyday roast. Every joint is cut to order, so choose the weight on the product page.

How much roasting joint do I need per person?

About 300-350g of bone-in joint per adult, or 200-250g boneless, with a little extra if you want leftovers. A 1.5-1.8kg bone-in lamb leg therefore serves five to six; a 2kg boneless shoulder serves eight. The joints on this page come in 500g to 4kg packs, and whole shoulders and legs can be ordered as a single piece.

How long do you roast a joint?

As a guide at 180C: lamb 25 minutes per 500g plus 25 minutes for pink, 30 per 500g for well done; beef 20 minutes per 500g plus 20 for medium-rare; a whole chicken 45 minutes per kg plus 20. Rest every joint for 15 to 20 minutes before carving. A thermometer is more reliable than the clock: 55C for pink lamb or beef, 75C for chicken and for well-done red meat.

Can I have a joint cut into steaks instead?

Yes. Almost every joint on this page carries a cutting option: whole for roasting, or 150-180g, 225-250g or 450-500g steaks, dice or chunks, chosen on the product page and cut when the order is prepared. The boneless lamb leg, for example, comes whole or as leg steaks, and the mutton leg as a whole joint or 450-500g steaks. Fat on or fat off is free.
