Fresh Halal Meat & Poultry Buying Guide & Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our certified Halal butcher cuts, chilled packaging, and delivery.

How is the halal meat and poultry range organised?

By cut rather than by animal, so you can compare across species. Steaks, chops, ribs, roasting joints, diced and curry cut, mince, bone-in cuts, boneless cuts, offal and whole and half carcasses each have a page, with marinated and deli meats and burgers, kebabs and bites alongside. If you would rather shop by animal, start with halal beef, chicken, lamb, mutton or goat.

Is all the meat on this page halal?

Yes. Every product in our fresh meat and poultry range is Certified Halal, from the British beef and lamb to the turkey, duck, venison and rabbit. The certificates are published on our halal certification page, and if you need a copy for a specific product, ask us through the contact page.

Do you deliver halal meat across the UK?

Yes, to UK addresses by DPD, which delivers Tuesday to Saturday. An order is prepared and dispatched the next working day and arrives the day after, packed in a Woolcool insulated box with ice gel packs that keep it at 0-4C for up to 72 hours. Delivery is 6.99 for orders from 15 pounds and free from 60 pounds. You can pick a delivery date up to a month ahead at checkout, which is useful for Eid, a party or a weekend barbecue.

Can I choose how each cut is prepared?

Yes, on the product page before you add it to the basket. Most cuts carry a cutting style (whole, steaks, diced in three sizes, chunks or strips), a fat on or fat off option, and a pack weight from 500g to 4kg, or up to 10kg on many chicken cuts. Whole birds can be left whole or jointed into 2, 4, 8 or 9 pieces. If you need something that is not on the list, the bespoke cutting service page explains what our butchers can do, and the cutting size guide shows what each dice size looks like.

How fresh is the meat when it arrives?

It is cut to order on the day of dispatch, so a cut spends one night in transit and arrives the next day. Each piece is vacuum-sealed straight after cutting, which keeps the surface from drying out, and travels chilled at 0-4C. Red meat such as beef, lamb and mutton keeps up to 6 days in the fridge after that, and everything can be frozen on the day it arrives for up to 12 months.
