Halal Chicken Offal

100% Non-Stunned Halal UK Grass-Fed Pastures Chilled 48h Woolcool Delivery

Halal chicken offal splits into three cuts that behave nothing alike: chicken liver, chicken heart and chicken gizzard. All three are Certified Halal and prepared by our butchers at Noori, a family butcher trading in East London since 1993.

Liver is the soft one. It cooks through in three or four minutes and will collapse into a pate or a sharp bhuna if you push it past that.

Heart sits in the middle. Small and firm, it is at its best skewered or seared fast over high heat.

Gizzard is the outlier. It is a working muscle, so it wants an hour or more of simmering before it turns tender, and it takes a curry well after that.

Local shoppers can collect from our East Ham shop at 328 High Street North.

Halal Chicken Offal Buying Guide & Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our certified Halal butcher cuts, chilled packaging, and delivery.

How long do chicken gizzards take to cook?

Chicken gizzards need roughly an hour of gentle simmering before they turn tender. They are a working muscle, dense and chewy straight from the pack, so the usual method is to boil or pressure-cook them first with salt, ginger and bay, then drain and finish them in a hot pan with onion and spice. Skipping the first stage is the single most common reason gizzards come out rubbery. Cook them thoroughly.

Where can I buy chicken gizzards near me in London?

You can collect chicken gizzards in person from our East Ham shop at 328 High Street North, E12 6PH, which is the only Noori branch that handles pickup for online orders. Pickup runs from 12:00 to 18:00. If you would rather have them brought to you, our own vans cover all of E1 to E18, EC1 to EC4, IG1 to IG11 and RM1 to RM20, plus parts of N, NW, W, WC, SE1 and SW London, Monday to Saturday.

Is your halal chicken offal stunned or non-stunned?

The chicken offal we sell is non-stunned. We buy only non-stunned halal meat and that includes poultry, so the liver, heart and gizzard on this page come from non-stunned birds. They arrive through the same chain as everything else we sell: third-party halal-certified suppliers into Noori Halal Ltd, our parent company, which supplies Onlinemeatshop. The current supplier certificates are published on the site at /pages/halal-certificate.

How is chicken offal packed and delivered?

Each cut is vacuum-sealed in a food-grade bag, then the whole order goes into a Woolcool insulated box, which is made of natural wool and is biodegradable and compostable. Ice gel packs hold the contents at 0-4C for up to 72 hours in transit. Local East London orders travel on our own vans with live tracking; everywhere else goes by tracked DPD, which delivers Tuesday to Saturday.

How should I store chicken liver, heart and gizzard?

Keep chicken offal in the coldest part of the fridge and use it within 6 days of arrival, or freeze it. Frozen on the day it lands, it holds for up to 12 months, and the vacuum seal is freezer-safe so nothing needs rewrapping. Liver is the most delicate of the three and is worth cooking or freezing first. Thaw overnight in the fridge, never on the counter, and cook all offal thoroughly.
