Halal British mutton mince, a 20% Fat grade minced from 100% mutton meat for a rich base in curries, koftas and kebabs. Every animal is slaughtered by the non-stunned method, Antibiotic-free and Growth hormone-free, and the meat is Certified Halal. Produced in the UK, it's packed fresh in 500g to 4kg.

How much mutton mince should I order?

Supplied fresh in 500g, 1kg, 2kg and 4kg packs, so you can match the size to the meal. Choose 500g or 1kg for a single curry, or 2kg and 4kg for bigger batches and freezing.

Is this the same as the other mutton mince fat grades?

This is the 20% Fat grade, made from 100% mutton meat for extra richness. A leaner 10% Fat grade of the same mince is sold as its own listing for those wanting less fat.

Storage and defrosting

Keep refrigerated and freeze it on the day it arrives if not using straight away. Defrost fully in the fridge, allowing around 12 hours, before cooking or reshaping into patties.

Sold in 500g, 1kg, 2kg and 4kg packs to suit different households. The 500g or 1kg pack covers a single curry or batch of koftas, while the 2kg or 4kg pack suits bigger family meals or splitting into freezer portions.

Keep this mutton mince refrigerated and use promptly, or freeze it on the day it arrives if not needed straight away. Defrost fully in the fridge, allowing around 12 hours, before cooking.

Works well in mutton korma, keema curry, koftas and kebabs, plus South Asian dishes like mutton keema with peas or a Middle Eastern-style spiced mince stew.

Mutton keema curry: brown the mince, then simmer with onions and warming spices until rich enough for a korma-style sauce.

Spiced koftas: mix mince with onion, garlic and ground spices, shape into koftas and grill or pan-fry.

Shepherd's-style pie: cook the mince down with stock and vegetables, then top with mash and bake until golden.

How much mutton mince should I allow per person?

As a general rule, plan for around 150-200g of mince per person, then scale up from there depending on how meaty you want the dish.

How does pack size affect how many people I can feed?

The 500g pack covers two to three people, while the 2kg or 4kg pack is enough for a bigger family meal or batch cooking, with extra to freeze.

Do I need more mince for a curry than for koftas?

Dishes like korma or keema curry often use slightly less per head than koftas or kebabs, since the mince is bulked out with onions, spices and sauce.

How do I know I've ordered enough?

If you are cooking for a mixed group, round up to the next pack size, such as the 1kg or 2kg option, rather than under-order for a mutton dish.
