Sourced from prime, grass-fed British cattle and prepared to strict halal standards, this fore rib delivers restaurant-quality results whether cooked as a steak or roasted as a show-stopping centrepiece.

About the Cut
Côte de Bœuf comes from the fore rib section of the animal and is known for its balance of meat, fat, and bone. Compared to standard ribeye, it offers a fuller, more robust flavour and superior moisture retention during cooking. The bone not only adds visual impact but also enhances taste throughout the cooking process.
Cooking Guide
Oven Roasting (Best for larger cuts)
-
Remove the meat from the fridge 30–40 minutes before cooking to allow it to reach room temperature.
-
Preheat the oven to 220°C (fan 200°C) / 425°F / Gas mark 7.
-
Season generously with salt and black pepper. Garlic, rosemary, and thyme work particularly well.
-
Sear the fore rib in a very hot pan with a little oil for 3–4 minutes on each side until well browned.
-
Transfer to the oven and roast according to your preferred doneness:
-
Rare: 20 minutes per 500g
-
Medium: 25 minutes per 500g
-
Well done: 30 minutes per 500g
-
-
Remove from the oven and rest loosely covered with foil for at least 20 minutes before carving.
Resting is essential and allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring tender, juicy slices.
Grilling or Pan-Seared (Ideal for smaller cuts)
-
Preheat the grill or pan to medium-high heat.
-
Cook for 6–8 minutes per side, depending on thickness and preferred doneness.
-
Rest for 10 minutes before serving for the best texture and flavour.
