Groceries Buying Guide & Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our certified Halal butcher cuts, chilled packaging, and delivery.

Can I order groceries with my meat in one delivery?

Yes. Groceries, fresh produce and frozen food go in the same order and the same Woolcool insulated box as the meat, so there is one parcel and one delivery charge. DPD delivers Tuesday to Saturday: an order is dispatched the next working day and arrives the day after. Delivery is 6.99 under 60 pounds and free from 60 pounds, with a 15 pound minimum order. Dry goods ride beside the ice gel packs; frozen packs go straight into the freezer when the box arrives, and the fresh halal meat into the fridge.

Which spice and grocery brands do you stock?

Shan, Laziza and Rajah for spices, with Patak's, Nando's, Amina's, Greenfield, ChefShef's, Natco, TRS, Ahmed and Tooba around them on the Spice Bazaar pages; Tilda, Laila, Pilsbury, Khanum, Plough and KTC under cooking essentials; TRS, Sofra and Safa for lentils, dates and nuts; Balconi, Cake Zone, Cabico, Hartley's and Nutella in the bakery; Rubicon, Jarritos, Hamdard, Twinings, Nescafe and Arla in drinks; and KTC, Blue Dragon, Haldiram's and Ambrosia in tinned foods. If a brand you use is missing, tell us.

Is the grocery range halal?

The fresh meat and poultry we sell is Certified Halal, and the certificates are on the halal certification page. Groceries are branded products from their makers: spices, rice, dal, tinned goods and drinks need no certification, and the frozen meat lines that carry Halal in their name, such as Spicy's, Tahira and Riverside, state it on the pack. For anything else, the ingredients and any certification mark are on the product page and the label; ask us if you need a copy.

Do you sell rice, flour and oil in bulk?

Yes. Tilda pure basmati and golden sella come in 5kg, Green Dragon fragrant rice up to 10kg, Pilsbury chakki atta in 5kg, KTC sunflower and rapeseed oil in 5L and Khanum butter ghee in a 2kg tin. The Grocery Essentials box bundles a 5kg rice, a 5kg flour and a 5L oil of your choice in one line, and the rest of the grocery boxes are on their own page.

Do you deliver groceries across the UK?

Yes, to UK addresses by DPD, Tuesday to Saturday, with the meat and groceries in one box. We are an online halal butcher and grocer rather than a supermarket you walk into; our partner stores are listed on the our stores page, but the web order ships from our own premises by courier. Orders of 60 pounds and over ship free, which a 5kg bag of basmati, a tin of ghee and the week's chicken usually reach.
